The East Wenatchee Police, in collaboration with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the Columbia River Task Force, have been diligently investigating a suspicious death incident that occurred on 06-11-24. Information gathered during the investigation has led to the classification of the woman's death as a homicide, and a suspect is currently being sought.

The family of the deceased has authorized the release of her name, Synthia N. Ring. Ring, a 28-year-old white female, leaves behind a healthy four-year-old son who is now in the care of family members.

On 06-11-24, at 21:30, officers of the East Wenatchee Police Department (EWPD) conducted a welfare check on a twenty-eight-year-old female living in an apartment in the 500 block of Eastmont Ave. Officers observed a four-year-old boy inside of residence. The boy was crying and appeared to be alone. The residence was locked.

Officers entered the residence. The young boy was secured, and a welfare check of the residence was conducted. One bedroom was locked, and multiple attempts were made to contact the person inside. No one answered, so the door was forced open. Inside the room, the boy's mother, a twenty-eight-year-old female, was found deceased.

Medics arrived and noted that the female had marks on her body, indicating force was the likely cause of death. A person of interest has been identified. We are not releasing the identity of the deceased or further information currently. At the time of this release, East Wenatchee Police Detectives and the Washington State Crime Lab are working to process the scene.
