Manson School District Continues Efforts To Provide Parent Education Offerings

Manson Schools will be offering a free series of classes designed for parents and community members.  The first session of these courses will be offered on January 26th at Manson Secondary School in conjunction with a Manson Inc. parent meeting. Dinner is provided at 6:00p.m. and classes will begin at 6:30. Choices include:

Computers for Beginners: Instructor Michelle Peterson will help class participants gain a basic understanding of how to use a computer, create an email account, navigate the internet, create a word document, and take and distribute a digital picture.  Participants will develop other topics of interest to explore over the course of six sessions.  Ongoing class will be held Monday’s beginning January 30 from 6:30-7:30p.m.

Advanced Computers: Introduction to Digital Literacy: Instructor Sompheng Batch will be covering hardware/software, internet, cyber security and social trends.  This class will be held every Thursday beginning February 2 and running through February 23 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the secondary school.

English as a Second Language: An instructor through Wenatchee Valley College will hold classes every Tuesday beginning February 2 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Manson Secondary School.

All of these opportunities are free to parents and community members and is funded through grants the district has received.
