TRAX Event Promises Extended Wintertime Fun

Lots of wonderful community events are planned for the new event from the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce – grab your friends and head on out! With just over 4 inches of new snow on the Nordic trails and more in the forecast, it’s sure to be a fantastic weekend. To keep up to date on all the events, make sure to follow us on Facebook! Here are some of the events planned for the weekend:

Friday, February 18

* Echo Valley Torchlight Party 6-9:30pm – live music from Velvet Elvis, night skiing and tubing, food, beer garden and the torchlight ski

* Guided Cross Country Moonlight Ski 8pm - it’s a full moon, come out for a guided trek on the beautiful Echo Ridge Nordic Trails

Saturday, February 19

* Frosty Family Fun Run, downtown Manson 8am – shake off the cobwebs on this 2k run! Registration includes a 20oz. aluminum water bottle. Prizes for the Chelan/Manson class with the most participants.

* Pancake Breakfast at The Manson Grange 8-10am – finish the race with a great breakfast or just fuel up your day. Biscuits and gravy, maple glazed ham, pancakes and scrambled eggs.

* Atlas Snowshoe Demo, Echo Valley Ski Hill – 10am-2pm – Lake Chelan Sports is hosting Atlas Snowshoes on the ski hill. Come try out a new pair of snowshoes and enjoy the bonfire and a cup of hot chocolate. (Echo Valley open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

* The Sweetest Trail Cross Country Ski Excursion, Echo Ridge Upper Trailhead – 11am-2pm – this may be the only day of the year when chocolate indulgence is totally guilt-free! Chocoholics cross country ski or snowshoe the trails to enjoy chocolate prepared every way imaginable.

* Snowga, Echo Ridge Upper Trailhead - 12-4pm – a fusion of yoga and snowshoeing! Grab your snowshoes and join Yogachelan on The Shoe Trail at Echo Ridge. Enjoy a wonderful soup lunch from Bear Foods Natural Market and then warm up with 30 minutes of yoga before taking off on the trail. New to yoga? New to snowshoeing? This is the perfect event for you!!!

* Trax Beer Tasting, Green Avenue in Downtown Manson – 3-7pm – a day of tasting everyone will enjoy! Sample from a selection of nearly 20 unique craft beers and hard cider. Breweries include Iron Horse Brewery, Alpine Brewing Company, Deschutes Brewery, Ninkasi, Full Sail Brewing Company, Pyramid, Georgetown Brewing Company and Methow Brewing.

* TraX ART pARTy, The Blending Room – 7pm - The Blending Room is hosting the TraX Art pARTy from 7pm until the paint stops flying. Enjoy food by Manson's very own Orchard Wood Ovens and music by local DJ DiJon. Tickets include three generous pours of wine and gourmet flat-bread pizza. This will be the happening evening of TraX in downtown Manson, WA.

Sunday, February 20

* Firehouse 5 Winemaker Dinner, Firehouse 5 Tasting Room, Manson - 6pm – enjoy a beautiful 4-course meal prepared by Chef Amilee Cappell-Olson and paired with wines from Firehouse 5, The Blending Room and La Marca.

* Home Style Dinner at The Manson Grange – 6pm – come on down and enjoy a down home community dinner. After dinner, head on out to check out the fireworks!

* Manson Fireworks, Manson Marina – 6:30pm – head on down to the Manson Marina to watch the spectacular fireworks show planned to close out the TraX weekend.

Join us at Echo Valley Ski Area for Trax this weekend!

Echo will be open Friday, Feb. 18 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
