Chelan County Sheriff (CCSD) - Sheriff Mike Harum reports on May 21, 2009 at approximately 1515 hours, RiverCom Dispatch Center received 911 call reference an Off Road Vehicle (ORV) accident near 500 Washington Creek.
Deputies and Chelan EMS responded and discovered Roland H. Oakes (8-2-49), a Washington Creek resident, deceased, pinned underneath a quad runner. The investigation revealed Mr. Oakes was traversing down a very steep grade and rolled the quad runner.
Chelan County Coroner, Wayne Harris responded and the investigation continues to determine cause of death.
