Chelan County Sheriff - On 11-01-09 at approximately 0150 hrs, a homicide occurred at the La Barisa Mexican Restaurant in Chelan, Washington. The suspect, Javier Vargas-Valdovinos was an employee, cook, at the restaurant. The victim, a customer, became involved in an argument with the suspect, and a shoving match ensued. The suspect produced a silver-colored revolver from the small of his back and shot the victim, who died at the scene.
CRIMESTOPPERS ANONYMOUS REWARD IS $1,000 for information leading to an arrest, combined with a private reward fund of $5,000, brings total reward to $6,000 for anonymous information leading to the suspect's arrest.
A warrant for 2nd Degree Murder has been issued and entered into NCIC.
Suspect reportedly has relatives in Brewster and Bridgeport, WA, and Paramount, Willows, Los Angeles, and Compton, CA; no further information on names or addresses at this time.
Weapon has NOT been recovered; it is believed to be a large caliber revolver.
