Sheriff Mike Harum reports on Monday September 13th at 2:28pm, deputies were advised of an injured hiker in the Lake Viviane area of the Enchantments southwest of Leavenworth, WA.  Cristine Miller (60yoa) of Seattle, WA suffered a severe laceration to her lower leg after a fall on a slope above the lake while hiking with friends.

The Sheriff’s Office helicopter was launched to include a paramedic as a member of the crew.  The medic, Shawn Ballard, and Deputy Scott Lawrence were inserted into an area above the location of the incident.  They hiked to Miller’s location, assessed her injury, and then moved her to a location where a MedStar helicopter could safely land.  Miller was flown to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee for treatment.  She is in stable condition.
