Chelan County Sheriff - Sheriff Mike Harum reports Sunday, December 13, 2009 at approximately 1913 hours, Rivercom advised of a possible burglary “in progress” in the 200 block of Washington Street Cashmere, WA. The reporting party advised her husband, located two males in their basement, one armed with a gun and the other armed with a construction type hammer.
Chelan County Sheriff's Deputies and Detectives responded to the scene. The victims described how two males knocked on the back cellar door to the residence and when they answered the knock, the suspects shoved their way into the basement of the residence.
One suspect had what the victims described as a sawed off shotgun and the other suspect held a hammer. The suspect with the gun pointed it at the three people in the basement. The suspects began taking items. The two suspects fled the scene and investigators believe there was a third suspect who was a “look out”, posted just outside the residence.
