The Manson Kiwanis Club honored one of their members, a community member and the Manson High School Jazz band at their February 15th meeting.
Geri Bloch was chosen by her club as “Kiwanian of the Year”. She has been President of the club two times and been involved in many club committees, events and programs. Her consistent dedication to he club is what earned her the honor.
Dude Davis was chosen as the “Kiwanis Citizen of the Year” for his many years of gathering old bikes, fixing them up and donating them to children that don’t have a bike. He has fixed and given away more than 550 bikes. He has also been involved with Habitat for Humanity.
The Jazz Band performed at the Kiwanis Valentine’s dinner for members and their guests. The Jazz Band is preparing to attend the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in Moscow, Idaho at the end of the month. Kiwanis member Dick Cochran presented music teacher Matt Brown with a $500.00 check to help with the cost of the trip.
Manson Kiwanis club meets every Wednesday at the Manson Grange Community Center. Dinner starts at 6:30 P.M, with the meeting starting at 7:00 PM. Anyone interested in joining Kiwanis should come to dinner and get more information about the clubs’ activities, etc.
