The Chamber Lunch meeting last week was well attended and very interesting. The Lake Chelan Tourism Promotion Group presented information regarding their Marketing Plan for 2006. We also got some good feedback regarding what members believe is working in Marketing Lake Chelan and what could be done differently to better market the area. Some of the feedback we got regarding what is working was; the Visitor Guide – 101 Things to do, having the visitor center open on weekends, WSAB contract – radio and TV ads, Word of mouth advertising, Downtown more appealing clean and the flowers, events like the Fall in Lake Chelan and Bachfest and entertainment. Things people want to see different were; sharing the “Fill your senses” branding, more events and activities at the Riverwalk Pavilion and sports events, Coordinate advertising with surrounding communities – Stehekin, Leavenworth, etc., provide Customer Service Training, communicate with businesses about upcoming conferences and events, improve the downtown appearance – have the garbage picked up on Mondays. The Chamber will be looking at the feedback and working with the LCTPG and City to see what things can be done.
