Chelan County Sheriff (CCSD) - Sheriff
Mike Harum reports at approximately
9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, a Burlington Northern Engineer reported seeing
what appeared to be a body floating in the Columbia
River just west of the Rock Island Dam.
On the morning of
Wednesday, August 27, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search of
the area, locating a deceased male subject. The deceased male closely matches
the description of an individual reported missing and assumed drowned in the
Malaga area on
August 15, 2008.
Chelan
County
Detectives and marine patrol/search and rescue responded to assist in the
investigation and recovery. Positive identification of the deceased is
pending.
