ImageChelan County Sheriff(CCSD) - Sheriff Mike Harum reports at 0339 hours, deputies were called to 1723 Lexington Place by Chelan County Fire Battalion Chief Brett Schafer and Chelan County Fire Marshall Dick Gormley for assistance investigating a suspicious structure fire.

Deputies arrived and discovered the home owner, Jason Bertram described hearing a “loud boom”, the power going out and the house filling with smoke.  Bertram evacuated his mother and girlfriend, and called 911 at 0130 hours reporting his house fire.

Fire Marshall Gormley investigated the cause of the fire and preliminary results are leading investigators to believe the cause of the fire is suspicious in nature.  Evidence found at the scene indicates the fire may have been set.  The investigation into the exact cause continues.  Nobody was injured in the fire.
