Experienced blues band plays at NCNB Riverwalk Park Concert Series on June 20
Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce(LCCC) - Celebrated blues trombonist Randy Oxford will kick off the first concert of the NCNB Riverwalk Concert Series on June 20 at 6pm with The Randy Oxford Band. This is the first concert of the five-part Riverwalk Park Series. All concerts in the series are free and open to the public.
“These concerts are a lot of fun for the whole family. We chose The Randy Oxford Band to start the series because they get the crowd really involved.” said Event Manager Jaye Payne.
Popular northwest vocalist Patti Allen has recently joined the band. Allen’s energetic style and look is reminiscent of Tina Turner. As an experienced entertainer, she’s performed with music greats including BB King, Lou Rawls and Hubert Sumlin.
The Randy Oxford Band consists of six veteran musicians who describe their latest CD, “Motown to Memphis” as a blend of “blues, Motown, funk, and a touch of jazz.” The band’s first CD, “All the Buzz,” won the “Best CD” award from the Washington State Blues Society. Popular tracks from the CD that received radio air time include “Bumblebee” and “Hard Way to Go.” Randy Oxford and Patti Allen are joined by guitarist Brian Feist, bassist Dominique, singer/guitarist Rafael Tranquilino and drummer/vocalist Riky Hudson.
All concerts take place at Riverwalk Park in downtown Chelan. This picturesque park hosts an amphitheatre overlooking the Chelan River. A beverage garden and food from local vendors will be available. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs.
