Manson,WA (MVT) - “Golden Glamour” is this years theme and designer Graham Thomas, depicts the
glamour of the Queen showing off the apple with appropriate wording. Graham, son of Phil and Celeste Thomas, is a
budding photographer, writer, sculpturer and won an award coming home with the Best

Graham Thomas, Manson High School junior, designer of the 2008 Apple Blossom Button.
Buttons were introduced to parade goers in 1949 and were
usually a
simple apple with a blossom. The
tradition of having school children submit designs began in the 70’s and this
year, the public was able to vote on the nine best designs submitted by the
children.
Buttons are sold to fund the many projects and events
during festival week. The cost is $3.00
and they are available in stores throughout the
Lake Chelan
Valley. The festival committee has purchased the
equipment to make their own buttons and thus even more money is available for
the festival events.
