Manson,WA(MVT) - “Golden
Glamour” is the theme for the Manson Apple Blossom Festival 2008 and there are
six girls from Manson
High
School
who will vie for the title of Queen to represent the community of
Manson.
Sierra
Ellsworth, Laura Cross, Keisha Neff, Katie Barnes, Whitni Pittman, and Rosie Peterson will vie for the coveted
title.
Cindy
Simmons and Geri Bloch, chairman of the selection committee, announced this
slate of candidates and the fact the selection festivities will be held Sunday,
February 17, in the Manson High School Auditorium at 2
p.m.
An
admission is charged in order to raise money to defray costs of the festival
with $5/adults and $3/students.
A
new benefit to paying admission this year will be the right to decide which
button design will be chosen to be used in 2008.
All
students in Manson Schools K-12 , were asked to submit
a design best using the theme of “Golden Glamour” and selection will be narrowed
down as the Festival Committee meets on Monday, February 11, to just three
submissions. Then on Selection Sunday,
everyone will be able to check out the designs displayed and choose their
favorite.
Selection
of the new Queen is based on audience vote and a panel of five judges voting. This will follow
individual
meetings, spontaneous answers to a question, and speechs written by each contestant. Entertainment will be
provided.
Next
meeting of the committee will be February 11 at 7
p.m.
