Chelan,WA(LCCC) - Marge and Rusty Wolf, winners of the 2007 Lake
Chelan Holiday Lighting Contest, participated for more than winning first
place. Rusty Wolf decided to light the family home to honor his father who
recently died from a cardiac arrest. “It’s something Dad always planned on doing;
unfortunately, he passed away a couple months ago.” He told his mother, Marge
Wolf, “I don’t care if we win or not. I’m doing this for Dad.”
The Wolf’s home
is located on 111 Hwy 150, near Vin du Lac. The display lines the property and includes
a nativity scene, large gold star and a spotlight featuring Santa on the
chimney. “The biggest problem was getting Santa on the roof,” said Rusty. “Every
time it got windy, he’d fall over.” The Wolf’s display includes approximately
5,000 lights.
Don and Karen Morgan of Chelan Hills
won second place. Their home is located on 121 Fairway. The display includes a
manger scene, moving animals and a skiing snowman. Ross and Suzy Taylor of 516
N. Bradley St. won third place. Willow won The Historic Downtown Chelan Association
category, and Lake Chelan Winery won the Manson Business Association category.
This
year is the 10th Anniversary of the Lake Chelan Holiday Contest, an

Downtown Chelan Association and The Manson Business Association. Winners
received cash prizes, chamber gift certificates and plaques. The Lake Chelan
