Flood Damage
Reporting
Sheriff Mike
Harum is requesting assistance from Chelan County residents in reporting damage from
the recent flooding. Any person or business who sustained damage which may have
resulted from the flooding this week, even if the damage is covered by
insurance, should report the problem immediately to Chelan County Emergency
Management at (509) 667-6863, or online at www.chelandem.org.
Sheriff Harum advises Chelan County must meet a minimum threshold of
damage before residents are eligible to receive assistance. Once enough damage
has been documented to meet this threshold, the federal assistance process can
begin. Grants may also become available for mitigation activities to attempt to
limit future damage in flood prone areas.
Once federal programs become available, information
about the programs will be available to the community. Information may be
obtained on the Chelan County Emergency Management website at www.chelandem.org, or by phone at (509)
667-6863.
