Manson, WA - Wapato Way was converted into a drag strip Friday evening in order to hold the Dead Car Drags; a drag race in which there are no engines reving - just the sound of grunting. It is all a part of the "Fall in Lake Chelan" event going on through this weekend.
Bob Goedde organized the event that brought local hot rods to downtown Manson to coast the two block long strip. Joe Guimond was on hand to MC the event.
The Fall in Lake Chelan celebration continues through the weekend with a street dance on the Chelan Bridge Saturday evening featuring the new Wolfman Jack as DJ. During the day the Show and Shine car show takes place on the 100 block of Woodin Ave.
On Sunday the last card from the Poker Run is given out at the Mill Bay Casino along with other fun activities.
