invited to attend the August Chamber lunch at Campbell’s Resort on Monday,
August 14th from 12 –1pm.Our
special guest speakers will be Jim Busey, Superintendent, Lake Chelan School
District and Fire Chief, Dennis Ashmore, Chelan Fire District #7.Jim Busey will discuss about the upcoming
Lake Chelan School Levies, which include the Maintenance, and Operation
(M&O) Levy and the Capitol Improvement Tax Levy planned of 2007. Dennis
Ashmore will present information regarding the upcoming Fire District Levy
planned for September 2006.The funding
of school and fire district operations is an important issue for local business
and residents.There will be a period of

Riverwalk
Pavilion Concert – Friday, August 18th
We continue with our Riverwalk Pavilion Concert Series,
sponsored by NCNB.Friday, from 6 to 8
pm, The Electric Shades of Blue (ESB)
will be performing.With the heart and soul of the bands that have
influenced them, such as Free, Cream, Led Zeppelin, and John Lee Hooker, ESB has
captured the essence of rock and blues. Fans of all ages are enthusiastically
embracing ESB as the next band to hit the charts. That the members of the group are still in their teens is
refreshing and a bit astonishing, because the quartet's catalog reeks of music
with an old soul.A separate area is
always available with food, beer, and local wines.

19th and 20th which will be featuring Northwest Artist’s
original and printed fine artsArtists

and Dan Donley.A beautiful piece of
artwork by Diane Paton Peel, was selected for a limited edition Riverwalk Fine
Arts Festival Poster.The poster will be
available at the Riverwalk Fine Arts Festival.This is a great collectors item and a wonderful way to remember the
summer of 2006 at Lake Chelan.
Rotary
Salmon BBQ and St. Andrews Apple Pie Social – August 19th
Support
the Rotary’s youth program through the purchase of a dinner at the Riverwalk
Park 4 to 8 pm.For the price $15 per
person you receive BBQ Salmon, cole slaw, corn on the cob, baked beans, roll,
& soda.A wine and beer garden will
be available.Tickets can be purchased
at the Chamber and any Chelan Rotary Member.St. Andrews Episcopal Church will be holding their Annual Pie Social in
conjunction with the Rotary Salmon BBQ Dinner.Pies will be $2.50/slice with ice cream $.50 extra.Ice tea and lemonade will be available.Stop by the old log church any time between
12-8 pm.Jack Reynolds will be playing
his guitar between 4:30 to 700 pm in the courtyard.

Pride Auction – August 26th
Valley Pride Auctiontickets are on sale.This year’s event, “An Enchanted Evening,” will be held at
Wapato Point Cellars on August 26, 2006 starting at 6:30 pm.Tickets are $40 per person in advance and $50

Chamber
Award Nominations
Each
year the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce recognizes businesses and people in the
Lake Chelan Valley who have made significant contribution to the success of our
community.If you know a business or
person who deserves special recognition please contact the Chamber Office to get
an award nomination form.Annually the
Chamber presents awards to the Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year, New
Business of the Year and Chamber Member of the Year.The Chamber also at times will recognize
other special achievements including Beautification awards and Senior Citizen of
the Year.Last year the Citizen of the
Year was Pastor Paul Palumbo recognizing him for his work with the Food Bank and
the Teen Center.The Chamber announces
the awards at the Chamber Banquet the end of October.
Board
Nominations and Election
The Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce depends on
members volunteering time to serve on the Board of Directors.The Board of Directors is the policy-making
body of the Chamber. Board members are selected from among the members, by the
members, to represent the business and professional leadership of the community.
The Board consists of nine (9) elected members who each serve a three-year
term.Directors may serve two
consecutive three-year terms.The
by-laws provide that the full Board of Directors shall meet at least once a
month, with additional meetings subject to call of the President.The Chamber is seeking candidates from our
Lodging, Professional Services, Recreation, Real Estate, and Restaurant
members.Formal nominations and
elections will occur in September.If
Chamber Members have questions or are interested in serving on the Chamber Board
please call me at the Chamber office.
Manson –
Information Specialist Recruiting
The
Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center is looking for an Information
Specialist in Manson. This position greets visitors in the Manson Visitor Center
