The Chelan City Council held a hearing on an
appeal by World Endurance Sports of the City decision to not issue Special Event
Permit to World Endurance Sports for the Triathlons scheduled for July 15, 16
and 19, 2006. The City Council denied the appeal.
The Chamber/Visitor
Center position and statement to people asking questions is;
'At the
July 13th City Council meeting, the Council denied World Endurance Sports appeal
of the City Administrator's decision to not issue a Special Event Permit for the
Triathlons scheduled for July 15, 16, and 19, 2006. Our understanding is these
events have been cancelled. For further information contact the City of Chelan

Regardless of the status of the triathlons, we hope
participants, their friends and family enjoy a visit to Lake Chelan. The
Chamber is offering a Lake Chelan Fun Book with special discounts and a drawing
for a 'Lake Chelan Vacation' package for registered participants who come to the
Visitor Center in Chelan. The Visitor Center has lots of information on things
to do in the Lake Chelan area.'
