BREWSTER - Rolf Vegdahl and Mike Lundstrom will be performing guitar and dobro duets from their new CD "Hymnody" at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, in Brewster at the Seven-Day Adventist Church, 17 Hospital Way.

The "Hymnody" repertoire consists entirely of hymns, some of which are country blues and jazz arrangements.

Vegdahl, of Manson, and Lundstrom, Brewster, have performed their eclectic mix of blues, swing, folk, Celtic music and jazz at Northwest music festivals and concert venues for almost a decade. However, they're best known for their adaptations of traditional hymns for steel stringed acoustic guitar and dobro (resophonic guitar).

 

They released a CD of Christmas hymns and carols entitled "Christmas Gifts" in 2001.  In September of 2005, Vegdahl and Lundstrom released "Hymnody," a companion to "Christmas Gifts."
