OLYMPIA - A total of 2,091 hunters have been selected for a unique opportunity to participate in a new multiple-season hunt for deer or elk this year.
Hunters randomly selected during recent drawings will be allowed the opportunity to purchase a multiple-season deer or elk tag from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) that allows them to participate in all archery, muzzleloader and modern-firearm general hunting seasons for deer or elk in 2006. However, those purchasing a multiple-season tag must follow all rules in effect for each season and are limited to harvesting one deer or elk a year.
A total of 1,570 deer hunters and 521 elk hunters were selected. Hunters selected will be notified by mail or they can check online at http://wdfw.wa.gov/cgi-bin/shp_tmp/permit.cgi .
State residents selected in the drawing must purchase a $164.25 multiple-season tag before May 28, 2006.
