Manson School District - The Manson School District Board of Directors will hold a public hearing on December 21st at 7:30 PM at the Ray Bumgarner Building in order to receive community input on a potential purchase of property.

The home/property under consideration is located at 135 Hill St. The site is surrounded on three sides by school district acreage and sits across the street from the elementary playground and district tennis courts.

The school district would purchase the property and then relocate the district office from its current downtown location to the new site. Potential benefits from this move include:

· A more predictable location for the district/superintendent’s office on the school campus

· Increases the district’s ability to utilize it’s current property

· Increased efficiency of operations

o Administrative visibility/support in schools increased

o District office support staff can assist in schools

o Reduce expenses by having all operations on one campus

After relocating the district office to the new site, the downtown property (located at 312 Quetilquasoon) would be sold. The proceeds from the sale would likely pay off the new purchase and still have additional funds left to reinvest in the district’s two school buildings
