Chelan County Sheriff (CCSD) - Chelan County Sheriff Mike Harum reports on August 1, 2009 at 2:45 PM RiverCom 911 center received a report of an attempted kidnapping in the area of Binder Road, Cashmere. The caller indicated a 20 year old female was assaulted by a white male as he was attempting to kidnap her.

Deputies arrived shortly after the call and contacted the victim of the assault.  The victim indicated she was in her front yard watering plants when a white male (20 to 30 years old, average build, 5-10, bald or having a shaved head) grabbed her around the neck from behind and placed a hand gun to her head.  The suspect was chocking her as he put her in his vehicle (Green, older Toyota Tacoma four door, pick up).  A vehicle passed by the residence and the suspect looked away from the victim and she was able to run from the vehicle into her residence.   The suspect fled the scene, last seen heading east on Binder road. The victim and witnesses did not recognize the suspect.  The victim had abrasions on her chest and face but refused treatment.

Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.  The investigation is continuing and we are asking the public to call if they have any information relating to this incident.

DRIVER IS WM, 30S, 510-511, SLIGHTLY HEAVY BUILD, SHAVED BLO HAIR, GRY LONG SLEEVED SHIRT, TAN PANTS, DARK SHOES, 5 OCLOCK SHADOW, SUN GLASSES.

MALE ATTEMPTED TO ABDUCT A 20 YOF FROM CASHMERE AFTER DRIVING BY
THE RESD SEVERAL TIMES.  SUSP ASSAULTED THE VICTIM WITH A SILVER SEMI AUTO HANDGUN AND FORCED HER INTO THE VEH. SHE ESCAPED AND THE SUSP FLED.
