Washington State Patrol (WSP) - Amy Story, the 27 year old Spokane woman reported missing after leaving her
vehicle aboard a Washington State Ferry was reunited with her family after
being located by a Sergeant with the Lake Forest Park Police Department.
On June 25, 2009 at 12:30 a.m. Lake Forest Park Police were dispatched to
the area of Ballinger Way and 35th Avenue NE to check the welfare of an
adult female who was seen walking in the street hitchhiking. Upon their
arrival, Sergeant J. Becker contacted the subject at the Lake Forest Park
Market. The subject told Sergeant Becker her car had been stolen from a
ferry.
The subject identified herself as Amy Story and Sergeant Becker
determined she was the person reported missing from the Washington State
Ferry M/V Tacoma earlier on the afternoon of June 21. Sergeant Becker
reunited Ms. Story with her family who were staying in a local motel.
The Washington State Patrol appreciates the assistance from the public and
law enforcement partners in locating Ms. Story and reuniting her with her
family.
