The
Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce will host representatives from the Washington
State Department of Revenue on August 11
Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce(LCCC) - On August 11, the Lake Chelan
Chamber of Commerce will welcome representatives from the Washington State
Department of Revenue to its monthly luncheon. Representatives will discuss new
regulations regarding streamlined sales tax and how it relates to sales tax
collection.
Under former practices, retail sales tax was collected based on the
location from which merchandise was shipped. As of July 1, Washington retailers
delivering/shipping goods to customers in Washington must now collect sales tax
based on the location where the customer receives the merchandise.
This new
policy is particularly significant to businesses that utilize Internet sales.
Chamber luncheons are held the second Monday of every month at Campbell’s Resort
from 12-1pm. Buffet-style lunch is available for $9/person. Please RSVP to the
Chamber at 682-3503 or
