ImageChelan County Sheriff(CCSD) - Sheriff Mike Harum reports that on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at approximately 2048 hrs. the Sheriff's office received a call of an overdue hiker at the Minotaur Lake Trailhead.  The reporting party, Andrew S. Robinson was reporting his daughter overdue from her hike at Minotaur Lake.  Mr. Robinson said his daughter, Anna Joy Robinson, left home about 1000 hrs. for a hike at Minotaur Lake.

Chamber Luncheon Goes Western PDF Print E-mail

ImageThe Chelan Rustlers will host the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce luncheon at the Chelan Rodeo Grounds on July 14.

Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce(LCCC) - On July 14, the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce will move its monthly luncheon to the Chelan Rodeo Grounds. The Chelan Rustlers will host the event with a ‘Cowboy BBQ Lunch.’

The luncheon will kick off Rodeo Week: “We’re hoping businesses will embrace the theme by dressing Western, using Western-themed displays or wearing cowboy hats,” said organizer Ashlee Farrar. The Rustlers will provide demonstrations on reigning and Western games, as well as an appearance by Rodeo Queen Amber Redfield.

ImageChelan,WA - Now that warm summer weather is here, the Chelan Library is bringing a piece of the Arctic to the valley with an evening of study focusing on polar bears. Children will learn about the polar bear's habitat, food sources and life cycle, as well as look at environmental factors that have led to the polar bear being listed as a “threatened” animal under the Endangered Species Act.

Spots & Stripes Fur-Ever, a new youth program of the Chelan Public Library aimed at fourth- through eighth-graders, makes its debut on Tuesday, July 1st at 6:00 p.m.
