ImageChelan County Sheriff(CCCD) - Chelan County Sheriff Mike Harum reports May 30, 2008 at 7:17 PM, RIVERCOM Center received a call from Dwayne D. Putman, 51 year old of Entiat advising his 31 year old son Joshua D. Putman, of East Wenatchee had been involved in a motorcycle collision. His son had abdominal injuries and was bleeding badly.  They were located on USFS Spur Road 311 off of USFS road 5340.  The road system is in Oklahoma Gulch, three miles north of Entiat. The victim was five miles west on Oklahoma Gulch from SR97A.

ImageArea representatives will address property tax changes on June 16 and June 24.

Chelan,WA(MVT) - The Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce and GoLakeChelan.com present two public forums relating to property tax issues. The first forum will be held on June 16 at 6:30pm at the Performing Arts Center at Chelan High School. Chelan County Assessor Russ Griffith and his staff will discuss new property assessments in the Lake Chelan Valley, the appeals process, and the likely tax impacts of the assessments.

ImagePort of Chelan County(POCC) - May 28th Port of Chelan County Regular Commission Meeting Highlights:

Orondo Street Moorage Project – Partnership with City of Wenatchee
Allison Williams, Executive Services Director for the City of Wenatchee, provided an update on the Orondo Moorage project.  The city’s engineering staff is completing final plans, and she expects the project to go out to bid by June 11th.  Since the plans are nearing completion for bid, the original cost estimate has been increased from $650,000 to $950,000. The Port had budgeted $260,000 to match grant fundsfor the completion of this project, but due to the City’s ability to secure otherfunding sources, the City reduced the amount requested from the Port to $200,000.

The Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce welcomes Kris Pomianek, Recreation Resources Administrator of Chelan County PUD at the Chamber’s monthly luncheon on June 9. She will discuss current and upcoming PUD plans in the Valley. Kris will provide information regarding the Lake Chelan lake level, trail developments in the Chelan Gorge, whitewater boating in 2009, and the temporary closure of Powerhouse Park in Chelan Falls.
