Greg Kennedy Opinion (MVT) - I received the voter's ballot package in the mail today and something about it made me very sad. It seems that the voter is not being offered the variety of presidential candidates that are available. We are being led to believe that in this country, there exist only two political parties. As an avid voter, I must tell you that the offerings for president from the two major parties do not represent my views of how this country should be run, nor do they offer direction for this country that will lead us out of the selling-off of America.

Washington State Sheriffs’ Association to Lobby Priority Issues on February 5

*Press Conference Scheduled* Chelan County Sheriff(CCSD) - Washington State Sheriffs’ Association (WSSA) Whatcom County Sheriff Bill Elfo announced today that Sheriffs from across the State will meet in Olympia to lobby the Legislature on WSSA priority issues and meet with members of the media on Tuesday, February 5. The press conference is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on the steps at the North Side of the Legislative Building.

Chelan-Manson Republican Caucus Feb. 9th

The Republican Caucus for Chelan and Chelan Falls will be held at Chelan Shores Main Office--upstairs at the Activity Center. The Republican Caucus for Manson will be held at the Manson Park Office located behind the Wells Fargo Bank. It will be open from 12:30 until 3 p.m. The caucus is scheduled for February 9th at 1:00 p.m. and ends at 2:30. Come be part of the grass roots decisions!

PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Vehicles) Expert to Visit Wenatchee

Wenatchee, WA – Jim Francfort, Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) Principal Investigator for the Advanced Vehicle Testing Activity (AVTA) program, arrives in Wenatchee on Wednesday, January 30 to share INL’s findings about plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and to discuss a potential collaboration with the Advanced Vehicle Innovations (AVI) consortium. The Port of Chelan County-led consortium has requested INL to consider a significant role in data collection and analyses for the 10-20 vehicles to be enrolled in the PHEV Pilot Project proposed by AVI for Washington State.
