Local Fighter Prepares for Moses Lake Battle PDF Print E-mail

ImageManson, WA - Jody Etheridge of Manson is on the roster to fight at the Moses Lake Wanted Fighting Challenge the evening of April 8th.  Jody graduated Manson High School in 1989 and has been a life long resident of Manson.  He currently works for Reed’s Marine and has two children enrolled in Manson High School.  He has trained in Tae Kwon Do, Boxing, Grappling, and Wrestling.  This will be his first Wanted Fighting Challenge and he invites the public to attend and show their support.

TICKETS ARE ON SALE NOW AT THE HIVE IN MOSES LAKE. This will be the first time that the Wanted Fighting Challenge is bringing it's show to the Moses Lake Fair Grounds. There are 12 fights scheduled for the night.

Tickets can be bought in advance at The Hive 509-766-7418 in Moses Lake.

Prices range from $20 for general to $40 for ringside seats.  Fights start at 8:00 pm and doors open at 6:00 pm.

Manson, WA - A public meeting was held Wednesday evening at the Manson Grange Hall to discuss the Manson Community Council elections, the Manson Boulevard Improvements Project and the downtown sidewalk and road-widening project.

Lanny Armbruster started the meeting and discussed the upcoming elections for Manson Town Council.  He stated that elections are held the first Monday in December, which will be December 4th of 2006.  To be on the ballot all that is required is 10 signatures from registered voters in our district.  Buell Hawkins was on hand to show his support for the Manson Community Council.

Fire Ravages Wapato Point Maintenance Building PDF Print E-mail

Manson, WA – Fire raged through the maintenance building at Wapato Point this morning, leaving the structure in a state of total devastation.

At approximately 9:00 AM today, Randy Reed of Reed’s Marine saw smoke coming from the structure.  He entered the building, got the people out and called in the fire to 911. Within minutes the fire, sheriff and EMT personnel were on the scene.

For over three hours firefighters fought the blaze with hoses and a ladder truck equipped with a remote control nozzle that quenched the fire from above the building. Firefighters entered the rear of the building and made their way inside to remove oxyacetylene tanks and other potentially dangerous items.

Manson, WA - The Manson Library is currently searching for new members to join its Board of Directors to serve three-year terms.  Those who live within the Manson School District and registered to vote are eligible to apply. Current board members are Alice Killian and Ellen Picton. Sign up in March at the Manson Public Library during regular library hours.  Voting will take place in April.  The board meeting is on April 20th

Orondo Cider Works

Chelan,Washington- The Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring this month’s Business After Hours on Thursday April  20th, at Orondo Cider Works, 6 -7pm.

Chuck and Sharon the owners of Orondo Cider Works want you to wind down from your busy day with an evening interlude on the Columbia River. Sample their cider and doughnuts while you explore their store and new fruit storage. You may even want to take a stroll through the orchard to observe the development in the blossoms.

You are also welcome to relax on the porch, enjoy the sunset, and experiment with your apple tasting skills or sample some hard cider made by Kalin, while they fire up the barbecue.

Don’t want to drive? Let yourself be pampered and experience the ride by letting someone else drive as you enjoy the scenery to and from Orondo Cider Works. Ron and Karrie Kehl from Lakeside Limousine Tours as well as Mike Stowe from Chelan Valley Tours will be providing transportation with donations being accepted.

Due to limited seating, reservations will need to be made by 5 pm Wednesday, April 19th. Transportation will be departing promptly 5:40 pm.
