Veterans Day and the Fight for Freedom
Written by Gregory Kennedy
Wednesday, 11 November 2009

ImageMVT - As Veteran's Day approaches, we are reminded that the fight for freedom is a continuing one.  As our young people give their lives on foreign soil, the real enemy of freedom is the very government that is sending them to their death.  Our government.

As citizens, we have demonstrated our lack of concern for the freedoms that we supposedly hold so dear.  In the name of security, we have lost many freedoms over the past 20 years.  And in the name of insurance rates (safety), we have given up many choices.

Manson H1N1 Clinic Will Be Postponed
Written by Hunterland Carr, RN, MSN, Manson School District Nurse
Monday, 02 November 2009

Image Manson School District - This important message is sent from the Manson School District Nurse, Hunterland Carr:

Kay Jakes with Chelan-Douglas Health Department called this morning to say that the vaccine is not arriving as originally anticipated and a specific arrival date is unknown. CDHD promised to reset the flu vaccine clinic date as soon as possible as the vaccine becomes available.

Please continue to have the paperwork brought in!

That will get us ahead of the game when CDHD receives the shipment.

We will make a new offer to those who may change their minds when the vaccine actually arrives - adding to the number of vaccine that they will bring. By that time, they may have enough to vaccinate the healthy staff as well. Let us hope so.

Thanks,

Hunterland Carr, RN, MSN

Deputies and EMS arrived minutes later. The deceased, customer Jesus Cortez, age 44 of Manson, was determined by EMS to be deceased from multiple gunshot wounds.

Three employees of La Brisa were interviewed. The three stated a verbal confrontation took place between customer Cortez and employee/suspect Javier V. Valdovinos age 40 of Manson. Cortez had been drinking beers at a table with three other men. Valdovinos was working in the kitchen. Valdovinos came out from the kitchen and asked the men at Cortez' table if they needed anything, as he was closing the kitchen.
