County Sheriff Mike Harum reports on
June 15, 2008 at 5:58 PM Deputies were dispatched to assist Emergency Medical
Service at 100 Santana
Drive, Manson. RiverCom reported a 60 year old male
had been beaten severely and was currently in stable condition.
Deputies
arrived within minutes to find John Newell 64 year old sitting on the porch of
the residence with sever injuries to his head. Newell indicated he was
assaulted by two males earlier in the day.
Wenatchee High School to Compete in Solar Drag Race

Wenatchee,WA(POCC) - On June 21 the checkered flag will drop on the 4th Annual World’s Only Solar Drag Race in Wenatchee’s Olds Station Business Park. Everyone is invited to join the excitement as racers once again go head-to-head on the 820-foot course in front of the Confluence Technology Center on Technology Center Way. Racing preparations begin at 11:00 a.m. with the first race starting at Noon. “The race is held each year on the Saturday nearest the summer solstice,” explained Jim White, race founder and coordinator.

Experienced blues band plays at NCNB Riverwalk Park Concert Series on June 20
Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce(LCCC) - Celebrated blues trombonist Randy Oxford will kick off the first concert of the NCNB Riverwalk Concert Series on June 20 at 6pm with The Randy Oxford Band. This is the first concert of the five-part Riverwalk Park Series. All concerts in the series are free and open to the public.
Chelan Library Prepares for Summer Reading Program
The Summer Reading Program begins at the Chelan Library on Thursday, June 12th, and librarians, volunteers, parents and children can hardly wait! This year’s theme, “Catch the Reading Bug,” seems fitting, as the building excitement appears to be contagious.
Chelan County Sheriff(CCSD) - Cyclists Injured and Rescued
Chelan County Sheriff Mike Harum reports on June 7, 2008, at 1137 AM Deputies responded with Fire/Aid to the Ranger Road area of Leavenworth to a reported cyclists injury accident on a Fruend Canyon Mountain Bike Trail. The bicyclist, Kerry Chamberlain, 47 year old of Poulsbo, WA, was participating in the Bavarian Bike & Brew Bike ride when he struck a water bar ditch crossing the trail. He was thrown from his bike and required medical help due to breathing problems and possible internal injuries.

Cashmere Mill Site Projects
Property Director Dayle Rushing reported that initial steps are being taken to limit access to the property recently purchased from Cedarbrook Lumber. This is necessary to prevent trespassing and damage to the property such as illegal dumping. Port staff has been working with RH2 engineers to develop a schedule for debris removal, stream buffer enhancement, demolition of a few small outbuildings, and street-side landscaping. This work is expected to begin in July 2008 and continue as additional improvements are identified. Engineering work related to the removal of wood waste and future site development is ongoing.

PM, RIVERCOM Center received a call from Dwayne D. Putman, 51 year old of Entiat advising his 31 year old son Joshua D. Putman, of East
Wenatchee had been involved in a motorcycle
collision. His son had abdominal injuries and was bleeding badly. They were
located on USFS Spur Road 311 off of USFS road 5340. The road system is in
Oklahoma Gulch, three miles north of Entiat. The victim was five miles west on
Oklahoma Gulch from SR97A.
Area representatives will address property tax changes on June 16 and June 24.
Chelan,WA(MVT) - The Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce and GoLakeChelan.com present two public forums relating to property tax issues. The first forum will be held on June 16 at 6:30pm at the Performing Arts Center at Chelan High School. Chelan County Assessor Russ Griffith and his staff will discuss new property assessments in the Lake Chelan Valley, the appeals process, and the likely tax impacts of the assessments.
