Chelan County Sheriff(CCSD) - Chelan
County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant of Investigations, Jerry Moore is requesting
the public assistance with a sexual assault incident. The rape occurred early Thursday morning, July 17, 2008 on
Highway 97A in the Lake Chelan area. The
Chelan County Sheriff’s Office is asking for anyone who may have witnessed the
suspects and/or suspect’s vehicle between the hours of 5 AM and 6 AM to step
forward and report whatever they may have witnessed.

Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce(LCCC) - Up-and-coming recording artist Joseph Konty will perform his blend of modern pop, soul and R&B at the NCNB Riverwalk Concert Series on July 18. Joseph is a rising singer and guitarist from Portland with extensive performing experience in the Northwest. He recently released his fourth recording, “Modern Live Sessions.”

Mike Harum reports on June 30, 2008
at 10:00 AM Deputies responded to a report of a one Semi-Truck collision on
Squilchuck Road near mile post 2, just above Pitcher Canyon Road. Reports were
received by Rivercom that it was a fuel tanker however, upon arrival it was
determined to be a Dump Truck pulling a Dump Trailer loaded with dirt and
rocks. The Wenatchee Fire Department, Douglas County Fire Department district2,
and Chelan County Fire District #1 also responded as the truck had caught fire
during the collision.
Chelan County Sheriff(CCSD) - Sheriff Mike Harum reports that on Saturday,
June 28, 2008 at approximately 2048 hrs. the Sheriff's office received a call
of an overdue hiker at the Minotaur Lake Trailhead. The reporting party, Andrew S. Robinson was reporting his
daughter overdue from her hike at Minotaur Lake. Mr. Robinson said his daughter, Anna Joy Robinson, left home about 1000 hrs. for a hike at Minotaur Lake.

Chelan,WA - Now that warm
summer weather is here, the Chelan Library is bringing a piece of the
Arctic to the valley with an evening of study focusing on polar
bears. Children will learn about the polar bear's habitat, food
sources and life cycle, as well as look at environmental factors that
have led to the polar bear being listed as a “threatened” animal
under the Endangered Species Act.
Spots &
Stripes Fur-Ever, a new youth program of the Chelan Public Library
aimed at fourth- through eighth-graders, makes its debut on Tuesday,
July 1st at 6:00 p.m.
