Celebrate Recovery is a Christian based 12-step program much like Alcoholics Anonymous and similar to a variety of secular 12-step programs that address a multitude of issues such as:Abuse, Alcohol, Anxiety, Codependency, Divorce, Drugs, Fear, Gambling, Grief, Guilt, Hurtful Relationships, Overeating, Overspending, Overworking, Perfectionism, Rage, Sexual Addictions and the Need to Control.

Celebrate Recovery started in 1991 at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California. Over 8,500 have gone through the program at Saddleback Church, and many of them are now serving in Celebrate Recovery and the church.

Celebrate Recovery has become the number one outreach ministry at Saddleback Church, with over 70 percent of its members now coming form outside the church. In addition, Celebrate Recovery is not just growing in churches, but in recovery houses, rescue missions, and prisons around the world.

New Mexico was the first state to adopt Celebrate Recovery into their state prison system.  Now, New Mexico has Celebrate Recovery pods in all their state prisons.  In August of 2004, Celebrate Recovery was announces as California's state approved substance abuse program for prisons.

Every Monday night North Shore Bible Church in Manson will host Celebrate Recovery. The evening begins at 5:30 pm with a dinner. This will be followed by a Large Group meeting at 6:30 and Small Groups meeting at 7:30. Babysitting is available.

Celebrate Recovery is for anyone who is suffering from a life-dominating habit that robs their peace and seeks to ruin their life. You do not need to belong to North Shore or even be a Christian. You will meet many other who have been healed of life-controlling issues and have a passion to give back to those who are still in need.

Each meeting we gather for a time of special music, learn form a teaching and participate in Small Group discussions designed to provide the strength you need to overcome your hurt, habit or hang-up.

Hurts are emotional reactions to another person’s behavior or to a disturbing situation such as abuse, abandonment, codependency, divorce or relationship issues.

Habits are addictions to someone or something; alcohol, drugs, food, gambling, sex, shopping and smoking to name a few. Hang-ups are negative mental attitudes that are used to cope with life’s happenings including anger, depression, fear and unforgiveness.

So what will be expected of you? As a member of Celebrate Recovery we look forward to seeing you each Monday. You will have the opportunity to participate in Large Groups, Small Groups and Step Studies. And of most importance, our will be asked to maintain confidentiality at all times.

What is said in Celebrate Recovery stays in Celebrate Recovery. Join us Mondays starting February 23rd in the Connections Café at North Shore Bible Church in Manson. Please share this with family, friends and co-workers.
