Lake Chelan Airport – FAA Grant Award
As joint owners of the Lake Chelan Airport (along with the City of Chelan) the Commissioners formally accepted an FAA Grant in the amount of $150,000 for engineering services related to future capital improvement projects at the Lake Chelan airport. This action meets the FAA’s deadline for formal acceptance of the grant funding. The Commission approved the application for this grant at a January commission meeting.
Olds Station - Protective Covenant Amendment
The Commissioners considered an amendment to the Port’s Olds Station Protective Covenants to accommodate a Department of Ecology-funded, “green” facility that the county may wish to construct on an approximately 40,000 square foot on Olds Station Road immediately east of the railroad tracks. The facility would be required to comply with all other applicable covenants for that property, including design and landscaping approval, screening of materials stored outdoors, and the prohibition of noxious or offensive odors. Legal counsel, Pete Fraley will finalize the amendment and present for board approval at the next commission meeting on February 19th.
Leavenworth – Amendment to City-Port, Interlocal Agreement
An amendment to an interlocal agreement between the Port and the City of Leavenworth for the Icicle Station rail stop was approved. The amended agreement makes available an additional $100,000 in Port funds in support of this project, bring the Port’s total contribution to $175,000. The amendment will now be considered by the Leavenworth City Council.
Executive Session – An executive session was called to discuss real estate matters. No formal action was taken following executive session.
