Today, we are very proud to welcome back our beautiful "Welcome to Manson" sign. You might remember that it was taken by the wind close to a year ago after standing proudly on the North Shore of Lake Chelan. This community sign of pride and open arms was a project of the Manson Business Association and started in early 2008. It was funded, and built, by many Manson businesses, civic organizations, individuals and municipal entities all the way up to the level of Chelan County.
The community of Manson was very sad when the sign was found on its face, broken in many pieces looking like a puzzle. There was no sign of vandalism, just the kiss of our strong Lake Chelan wind. And the Manson community was clearly dedicated to bringing it back to life. Sparked by the current Manson Business Association, now a full division of the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce, the community has once again done its magic.
Thanks to Keith Little, the Dupree Family, Tim Bombaci, Dick Manski, Manson Red Apple Market, Lake Chelan Building Supply, Cafe Manson, Mountain View Lodge, Wapato Point Mangement & Home Owners, the Manson Business Association/Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce, and Welder, John Gordon & Signmaker, Jill Risley for bringing our proud sign back to life.
We feel confident in the teamwork of Ms. Risley and Mr. Gordon to prepare a foundation of safety and strength in the face of future winds and look forward to seeing this symbol of the beauty of Manson Village for a very long time to come.
