Chelan County Sheriff (CCSD) - Sheriff Harum reports on Wednesday 02-18-09 Chelan County Sheriff’s Detectives and Okanogan County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted Federal Agents and Anchorage Police Department Detectives with the arrest of a Chelan resident, Taylor Marcus Podkranic, 20 years of age.
Podkranic was located in Okanogan County and was place into custody for violation of Interstate Commerce (from the State of Washington to the State of Alaska) with the intent and for the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual conduct with another person.
The victim met suspect Podkranic via the internet in July of 2008. Podkranic communicated with the minor over the internet and on the telephone. October of 2008, Podkranic traveled from his home in Chelan, Washington to Anchorage, Alaska and had sexual relations with the 13 year old.
Podkranic was booked into the Chelan County Regional Justice Center on the Federal charge and will be transported to Anchorage early next week.
