County Sheriff Mike Harum reports on
April 16, 17, and 18,
2008 a team of Detectives from the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, Wenatchee
Police Department, United States Marshalls Office, Washington State Department
of Corrections, Yakima County Sheriff’s Office, Chelan County Department of
Corrections and the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement continued the
operations of seeking out and arresting registered sex offenders and probation
violators.
The team investigated and sought out 134 individuals making 23 arrests. Five of the arrests were Felons and 18 Misdemeanors. In addition to these arrests the team arrested four subjects for obstructing a police officer and possessing Marijuana. A firearm was seized in one of the search warrants.
Through the investigations Detectives have learned the locations outside Chelan and Douglas County of the many suspects and will be forwarding the information to those jurisdictions.
We suggest that those individuals who have not complied with the Sex Offender Registration requirements or the terms of their probation should do so as the team will continue to seek out violators.
Operation Crackdown will continue with the assistance and funding from of the Governor’s office.
