E-mail Print PDF

ChelanFireRescueLogo200Chelan Fire and Rescue has made the last payment on the 1991 Unlimited Long Term General Obligation Bonds which were approved twenty years ago. The final payment was made in December 2011. The 1.2 million dollar bond measure provided funds for construction of Station 71 in the City of Chelan and the 1994 ladder truck which is still in service at this station today.

Tax payers should no longer see the ULTGO bonds on their tax statements in 2012 resulting in a slight property tax reduction. The rate per thousand over this twenty year bond issue was as high as $0.30/$1000 in 2000 and the lowest (final) rate was $0.02/$1000 in 2011.
