It is summer and we are all very busy here in our little corner of the world… that’s great news for all of us, so I will only take a moment of your time with two items today.
AUGUST MBA MEETING CANCELLED
The regular Manson Business Advisory Committee meeting scheduled for next Tuesday, August 31st, will be cancelled due to busy schedules. PLEASE plan to attend the September meeting scheduled for September 28th (last Tuesday of the month, 10am, Manson Business Center). We’re all movin’ and shakin’ in the great Lake Chelan Valley and terrific things are happenin’ in Manson! All Manson businesses are welcome and needed – as always. J
Between now and then, I hope to see all Manson business owners personally. I have a few questions that will be very helpful for the discussion at the next meeting. I’ll stop in to say hi; if it’s not a good time, we can reschedule then.
WELCOME TO MANSON SIGN - sad story
You may have already heard that our beautiful Welcome to Manson Sign fell to its face and shattered into many pieces. There were many of us out there doing some amateur investigative work and, although the “M” and the “E” from the word welcome are missing, we left feeling that it was not due to vandalism. We think it must have been weather related and may have been coming on for some time, although it shouldn’t have done that either. We just don’t know.
We believe that someone taking a look at the destruction this morning may have picked up the broken piece that the “M” and the “E” were on and took it as a souvenir. Therefore, we would like to sincerely ask your help in spreading the word that we would like to get the letters back. The sign took a great deal of time to make and cost our community a great deal of money. It looks as if the letters can be refinished and reused for the new sign, which will save a bit of additional cost. The “M” and the “E” can be returned to Mountain View Lodge 7 days/nights a week, or the Chamber office 5 days a week… and they will be welcomed home with open arms. Thank you so much, in advance, for the return of the missing pieces!
SIGN – PART 2 - NOW WHAT?
I guess we rebuild! This was such a huge community effort and the sign represented so much pride and love of our home that there really isn’t any other choice, right?! It won’t be nearly as big a job this time around, but maybe more important. We will need to do it together again, so if you’ve got any great fundraising ideas or ways that you think you might be able to help, please don’t hesitate to step forward and lend a hand.
